FAQs
What is your availability?
My schedule tends to mirror the pace of the ad world—busy, unpredictable, and full of great projects! If you ever need something turned around quickly, please provide a heads-up so I can reserve time and ensure a smooth delivery—in most cases, same-day or next-day, depending on the size of the project.
What types of assets do you review?
My experience covers the full spectrum of marketing and communications deliverables, including website copy (UX, product descriptions, landing pages, microsites), display and social ads, email campaigns, video scripts, catalogs, brochures, lookbooks, direct mail, print and OOH, sales and pitch decks, strategy decks, one-sheets, case studies, whitepapers, editorial style guides, brand books, and legal or regulatory copy.
How do you prefer to receive files (Word, PDF, Figma, Google Docs)?
All file types are welcome—whether it’s a working draft, a near-final layout, or something in between. I’m happy to jump in wherever you are in the process and offer guidance on the most efficient way to keep reviews fast, clear, and on brand.

What do you look for?
1. Capitalization
Ensure consistency with brand and style guide conventions (title case vs. sentence case, proper nouns, branded terms, and feature names). Verify headers, product names, and UI elements follow approved capitalization rules.
2. Citations, Disclaimers, and Footnotes
Confirm all legal and compliance language appears as required, in correct order and placement. Check formatting (superscripts, numbering, footnote alignment) and accuracy of citations and attributions.
3. Clarity and Construction
Assess sentence structure and flow for readability, conciseness, and logical phrasing. Identify redundancy, jargon, or ambiguity and suggest clear, audience-appropriate alternatives.
4. Cross-References
Verify that all internal references (page numbers, figure/table labels, and section names) are correct, consistent, and active if linked digitally.
5. Editorial, Brand, and Legal Guidelines
Apply client-specific style rules alongside Chicago/AP or in-house guidelines. Ensure consistent use of trademarks, product names, taglines, and legal language as required by brand standards.
6. Fact-Checking
Confirm the accuracy of data, dates, product claims, metrics, and URLs. Ensure names, titles, and attributions are correct and current.
7. Formatting
Review consistency in fonts, weights, sizes, spacing, and hierarchy. Check alignment, indentation, and use of bold/italic/underline per design intent or template standards.
8. Grammar and Usage
Correct grammatical errors, syntax issues, and misused words according to chosen style guide. Maintain natural, professional phrasing suitable for the intended audience.
9. Hyphenation
Ensure correct and consistent use of hyphens, en dashes, and em dashes. Apply compound-modifier rules and follow brand-specific preferences for open, hyphenated, or closed compounds.
10. Links and URLs
Test all hyperlinks for accuracy, functionality, and proper display format. Confirm that linked text aligns with accessibility best practices and brand tone.
11. Lists
Check list punctuation, numbering, parallel structure, and formatting. Ensure bullets are consistent in style, capitalization, and grammatical form.
12. Numerals
Apply style guide rules for numbers (spelled-out vs. numeric, ordinal formats, ranges, percentages, and monetary values). Maintain consistency across similar usages.
13. Punctuation
Verify commas, semicolons, colons, quotation marks, apostrophes, and other marks are used correctly and consistently. Follow serial comma preferences and style-specific punctuation norms.
14. Spelling
Check for typographical errors and consistency in spelling (U.S. vs. U.K. English). Maintain brand-specific spellings and capitalization for proprietary terms.
15. Tone and Voice
Ensure copy aligns with brand messaging. Maintain a consistent tone across touchpoints while preserving clarity and professionalism.
